First Christmas

Reese's first Christmas was great. We celebrated 5 times in 4 days, & she was a trooper. She stayed in a good mood for the most part, despite the lack of regular naps & being out past bedtime a few days in a row.

Our festivities started on the 23rd at Matt's parents house. We took the pack n play along, hoping to put her to sleep while we were there, but she didn't want to miss out on any of the fun. It really would have been a bummer if she had slept through us opening the load of toys & clothes that she got. She stayed in a pretty good mood all night, but we finally had to leave at 9:30 to get her to sleep.

On Christmas Eve day, my parents, Jacqi, Brian, & Austin came over. We had lunch, & the kiddos were spoiled rotten by Grandma & Grandpa. Our living room looked like Toys R Us exploded. Jacqi, Brian, & Austin got Reese tons of stuff too, & she was having a blast.

It was snowing during the day, & it wasn't too cold, so we took Reese outside to see the snow for the first time. :)

On Christmas Eve, we went down to Princeton to spend the evening with my mom's side of the family. Reese wanted to be a party animal again, & refused to sleep, so we had to leave around 9 before she got too crazy.

On Christmas morning, Reese woke up to more excitement. She got a Radio Flyer wagon, & LOTS of books.

We headed out to spend the day at Matt's Grandma's with his mom's side of the family. When that was all over, we went back to my parents for dinner to celebrate Brian's birthday (my brother-in-law is a Christmas baby). We tried to get some pictures of Reese & Austin together. Taking pictures of a 1 year old is nearly impossible, & it is especially hard to get a picture of a 1 year old & 5 month old together. They are wiggle worms! I thought this picture of them looking at each other was pretty cute though.

My dad with both grandkids:

The day after Christmas, we were back at my parents with my dad's side of the family. Once again, Reese was spoiled with lots of gifts. She actually napped at my mom's house during the day, which was good, but she missed out on some of the fun while Austin played. :)

This was the first time Austin had seen snow. He had a blast sledding in the yard, & he looked so cute bundled up in his snow gear.

We continued our marathon weekend tonight with one final dinner at our house to say goodbye to Brian, Jacqi, & Austin. They head back to Florida in the morning. :( Reese is completely exhausted, & I think she's coming down with a cold. Tis the season for germ sharing. Hopefully it's minor & passes quickly! I'll wrap this up with her picture with Santa since I never ended up posting before. I hope everyone had a very merry Christmas!!!
