January…what a miserable month you have been.
We started out the month with a polar vortex, which was really terrible, aside from the really cool appearance of the sun.
Other than that though, it was just miserable. And it was extra miserable for me because I had to go out and perform jury duty on the coldest day in decades. Lucky me!
Matt didn't' really understand what anyone was complaining about. He rather enjoyed the frigid temps.

After many, many hours of listening to Charlie say, "Snow, PLEASE" and having to explain the cold to Reese and undress her from her snow pants and boots, I finally decided to bring the snow indoors. The kids were so happy.
After watching big sister continuously eat spoonfuls of snow, Charlie decided to see for himself just how delicious it is.
But he was not impressed.
To top off the awful start to the month, I sent my camera and all of my lenses into Canon for routine maintenance and cleaning, so I didn't even have a camera for a week and a half. I'm telling you, January has been rough so far. Thank goodness for the iPhone so I can still keep the blog up to date on what the kiddos have been up to. :)
Charlie has become rather fond of play doh. And he doesn't eat half as much as Reese.
I swear on my life, I did not ask for this photo. I was just watching them play, and then this happened. All on it's own. She's such a great big sister!
A few days after the awesome polar vortex, it warmed up enough to go outside without the risk of losing a limb to frostbite.
No better way to warm up than with hot chocolate. :)
We took the kids to their first Bulls game last weekend. They had a blast. And we didn't even have to resort to the iPad until the 4th quarter. Not bad, considering the game started at their bedtime. :)

The kids were obsessed with playing in the dryer the other day. I cannot even explain the temper tantrum that Charlie threw when I finally told them they had to get out of the laundry room (it had been like half an hour!).
Bath time is definitely the silliest time of the day. The kids have water fights, and generally act their craziest to make each other laugh. It. Is. The. Best.
Aaaaaand, I finally got my camera back. I feel whole again. :) And I may or may not have taken advantage of the only time of day the kids stay in a 4 foot area (again, bath time) to check the focus of my gear upon it's return. :)
Well, that's it! We dropped Matt off at the airport this morning, and he is leisurely resting at Brian and Jacqi's house tonight. ;) He has a week full of sales calls in the South Florida area, and we will be joining him on Wednesday. Our next blog update will be full of Florida photos…if I survive the solo flight with both kids! :)
