Florida II

Our last day was the perfect grand finale.  We started the day playing in the backyard.  The kids piled on the hammock, and I tried my hardest to get a picture for my parents.  :)

We went out for a delicious Mexican lunch, and then headed into Ft Lauderdale for a boat tour of the intercoastal waterway.  We had some gorgeous views, and got to drool over some ridiculously stunning mansions.

Austin enjoyed taking photos of our tour with Jacqi's phone. :)

This is Steven Spielberg's yacht.  It's one of the 100 largest yachts in the world, and our ship captain said that it costs over half a million dollars to fill the fuel tank.  Crazy.

At the end of the tour, we headed to the back of the boat so the kids could watch the wheel.

After the boat tour, we stopped to get ice cream, and took it to the pier.

The kids loved seeing the pelicans.

But they were really excited to head to the beach.

Reese warmed right up and loved every second.  Charlie took a few minutes this time.  He did not like the feeling of the sand on his feet, but he eventually loved it.

Reese thought it was cool to write her name in the sand.  She was not happy when the waves washed it away.

And then it was time to say farewell.  We headed straight to the airport from the beach, which was a mess, but so worth it for a full fun day before heading back to the cold.

And now that we're back, the kids and I got to enjoy another day home together because school/work were cancelled due to negative 30 wind chills…..AGAIN.  Sigh.

I hope you're all staying warm!
