First tooth!

Reese has a tooth! I have been obsessively checking for a tooth since she was about 4 months old, & when I felt her gums on Thursday, I felt the tiny tip of a tooth poking back! I was sooooo excited!!! Unfortunately, the new tooth has not been very fun. Reese has been fairly miserable with it. We haven't been giving her any topical gel or medication (this mean mama doesn't like to medicate unless we have to), but I finally gave in & gave her a dose of Tylenol in the middle of the night on Saturday night. She kept waking & whimpering in her sleep, & eventually, it turned into full screaming around 1:30 a.m. Shortly after the Tylenol, she calmed down & went back to sleep. I went ahead & ordered her an amber teething necklace online (you can read about them here if you're interested: http://www.amberartisans.com/amtene4.html). I have friends that swear by them, so I'm really hoping that it helps her. In the meantime, she's chewing on everything in sight, & Sophie the Giraffe goes with us everywhere.

Reese discovered our kitty door last week. She thinks it's pretty fun to swing it back & forth, & to play with kitty through & under the door. We really should discourage it, but it's pretty stinkin' cute. Reese LOVES her kitty, & she gets really excited every time she sees Moxie. This week, we have noticed that she has started making the "K" sound when she sees her. Maybe her first word will be kitty!

Here's Reese hanging out with her Daddy last Sunday morning. As you can tell from Matt's face, Reese has been getting up super early in the mornings. As you can tell by her face, she doesn't mind at all. We're hoping the time change helps that.

Since Reese is still acting like a wild child in the bathtub, we borrowed this ducky tub from my mom to see if it would slow her down since it doesn't have easy sides to grab onto. Unfortunately, it's just made things even less safe. She still manages to try to stand & to cliimb out of it, & since it's inflated, rather than a hard surface, she's even more prone to falling. So, even though she LOVES the ducky tub (especially when the duck quacks), we had to switch back to the old boring blue tub. Here are a few pics from the good old days, before we gave the tub back to Grandma:

Reese's physical therapy is going really well. We ended up deciding to just continue PT at Children's Memorial, rather than the PT office closer to home, & we have been really happy with the therapist. Reese is working really hard on her exercises at home, & we are starting to see a difference with her use of her left side. We go to PT again on Friday, & we have another head scan next Thursday to see if we have made any progress.
