Happy St. Patricks & 8 Month Day!!!

Today was St. Patrick's Day, Reese's 8 Months Day, & our visit to the cranial specialist. Big day! It's also been a GREAT day. We got fantastic news at the cranial specialist. They did another head scan, & compared her measurements to the scan from 6 weeks ago. We knew that this was a short amount of time to expect any dramatic improvement, so we were prepared for bad news. However, the scan showed that ALL of her ratios have improved. Some of them have even moved into the "normal" range. A couple of them are still a little low, but they are thisclose to being normal. The PT is working!!!!! So, the cranial doctor determined that he doesn't feel that helmet therapy is warranted. He wants us to continue physical therapy until the therapist is confident that she is evenly using both sides of her body, but unless something significant arises, we do not have to go back to see him. We are SO happy, & so proud of the progress she has made. Her exercises aren't always fun for her, but she has been such a trooper, & she is getting so strong. We were so happy to get that news.

Reese is still saying making the "K" sound every time she sees the kitty, & she has now started to say "Pfff" when we give her puffs (little baby snacks that she gums up). Her second tooth has broken through the gums, & I don't know if the amber teething necklace is making a difference or what, but she hasn't complained about it at all. The necklace looks super cute on her. You can see it a little bit in the pictures from today. So, without further blabbing, here are her 8 month pictures:

Later in the day, we changed her into her St. Patrick's Day outfit. Her St. Patrick's Day onesie has big sentimental value to us. Some of you may remember one of our earliest blog posts from about a year ago (http://mg-dg.blogspot.com/2010/03/were-getting-kick-out-of-this-baby.html), right after we found out that we were having a girl. We went to Buy Buy Baby, & purchased our very first baby items. We purchased "The Cat In The Hat", and a St. Patrick's Day onesie that said, "Daddy's Lucky Charm". We have been waiting a year to dress our little girl in this onesie, & her adorableness in it did not disappoint. I made her some matching baby legs. :)
