April

April was a fun month. We enjoyed seeing family and friends that we hadn't seen since our move, and we started slowly getting settled back into IL life. It was nice to be home to see everything starting to bloom in Spring.

We enjoyed a Bulls game.

Reese started practicing for her debut t-ball season with lessons from Matt.

I had a moment of panic one morning at home when I realized I hadn't heard a peep from the kids in awhile. I started looking for them and realized they were in our bedroom with the door shut. I slowly opened the door, expecting to find a mischievous disaster. I was sweetly surprised to find them in bed reading together.

The kids had a fun Easter. We colored eggs with the Andersons.

We had a great Easter. The kids enjoyed an egg hunt in the morning.

Reese got right to work on her Legos from the Easter Bunny.

We enjoyed the rest of the day out at Grandma Rosie's farm. The kids enjoyed another egg hunt.

And that wraps up April!

March

March will be short and sweet because March was chaotic and my camera never really left the shelf.

The kids hit a couple important milestones. Reese made her first attempt at forging a permission slip.

And Charlie learned how to undress himself AND decided to climb out of his crib (which he could have done a long time ago and thankfully never realized). Those two skills together made for a very interesting transition.

Reese's reading continued to take off, and she pretty much took over reading bedtime stories each night. The kids started sleeping in the same bed during the moving process, and it was so sweet to see them together.

We made a trip up to Port St Lucie to see a Mets spring training game. We sat behind some scouts/reporters who gave Charlie a baseball. This made the rest of the game interesting, as we then had to diligently work to prevent Charlie from throwing the ball.

We went to the Ft Lauderdale St. Patrick's Day parade with our SoFlo friends (from Indiana). It was bittersweet, since we knew it would be one of our last FL meet ups (but I have already gotten to meet up with Stephanie in Chicago this summer, so hopefully that will continue!).

Jacqi & I met up at a pottery painting place with Austin & Reese. They had so much fun painting together.

We spent a few nights sleeping on floors during our moving process. I thought it was so cute to find the kids sleeping in the exact same position.

And finally, we had dinner at our favorite SoFlo pizza place, and said goodbye to Brian and Jacqi and crew. Which sucked. A LOT.  :(  They are most definitely the part of SoFlo we are going to miss.

And then began our 22 hour journey home...
