Yikes, it's been awhile again! I have lots to update! January was a super busy month. We started by converting our front living room to a toy room for the kids. We were being overtaken by toys, and it is SO nice for the kids to have a dedicated play area. Matt really appreciated Reese's help in getting everything set up. He really appreciated my help too (as I took pictures of Reese helping instead of keeping her out of trouble).
Charlie helped Matt cheer on the Vikings in the playoffs. He doesn't look too thrilled, but he was tired. :)
Charlie has started eating everything in sight.
And he cracks himself up.
When I first started this blog post (the date was the second week of January), I was excited to share that Charlie was scooting around everywhere and getting up and rocking on his hands and knees. That's old news now. He started fully crawling a couple weeks ago, and started climbing up to stand a few days after that. He is also cruising along things. He is full of bumps and bruises!
We let Reese jump on the bed for a photo shoot, and now she thinks she can jump on the bed any time I get my camera out. She had a blast!
Reese and Charlie have started taking baths together. Charlie LOVES being in the tub with his big sister. She loves to splash him, and he thinks it is hilarious.

Reese has been absolutely hilarious lately. Her imagination and sense of humor are amazing. She has been telling tall tales, and it is very entertaining to hear the stories that come out of her mouth. I can't believe how grown up she is becoming. We are getting ready to enroll her in preschool. Our baby. She is becoming so independent, and I am so proud to see how much she is maturing, but a little sad at the same time. I love seeing her excitement as she accomplishes new tasks like dressing and undressing herself. She loves being silly, and she always wants to make us laugh.
We finally had a little snow around here (not enough to actually cover the blades of grass, nothing to get too excited about!). Reese loves the snow. Charlie is not impressed.
And when it gets too cold, we just bring the snow inside!
I hate the cold, but I have been waiting forever for snow because I really wanted to take pictures of snowflakes. So when I saw that snow was finally in the forecast, I borrowed a macro lens from my boss & waited for the flakes to fall. I'm amazed by their detail!
Morning snuggles. :)
These were supposed to be Charlie's 8 month pictures, but I couldn't get him to stop climbing everything, and then he refused to turn toward me. But I swear the very official 8 month sticker is on his shirt!
And then I just took his shirt off....because his fat rolls are too cute to keep covered up.
You might notice something in the lower right hand corner of this next picture....
Yep, that's my new logo......I have decided to start a photography business!!!!!!!! Matt and I have been talking about it for a little while, and I'm ready to take the plunge. I still have a lot of work ahead before I'm ready to officially launch (I'm hoping late Spring), but I have been working hard and doing a lot of free portfolio building sessions to get some work to show on a website. I'm so excited (and nervous!)!
I'm planning to focus on maternity, newborn, and baby photography. I plan to do toddlers, couples, and families outdoors when weather permits. Here's a few of the albums from recent sessions I did for friends, if anyone is interested in seeing what I've been working on. :)
I have several more lined up in the next few months, and I'm really enjoying taking photos for other people!
And lastly, I'll leave you with our little valentines!!!!
