Easter and Stuff

Easter was so wonderful here.  The weather was absolutely perfect, and the kids had so much fun.  We started the morning with Easter baskets and an egg hunt.  Reese was crazy good at finding the eggs very quickly.  Next year, the Easter Bunny will have to hide them in trickier spots!

Reese started noticing the eggs as soon as she came down the stairs.  We had to lure her back to check out her basket, and it took a couple minutes before she finally noticed that Frozen was propped up between the baskets.  She was super excited once she saw it, and spent a good deal of time checking out the paper inside the DVD.

These are the 2 eggs that Charlie found (out of 38).

Most of the time, Charlie just walked around and ate the treats he had emptied out of the eggs Reese had found. :)

That was Charlie's self assigned job.  Emptying the eggs.

Reese was excited when she realized that a couple of the eggs had chocolate inside.  She, unlike her brother, had the self restraint to unwrap them before eating them.

At one point, Charlie randomly grabbed each basket and carried it to the front door.  I'm still not sure why, but it was cute nonetheless.

I can't even remember the last time I saw this kid without something in his mouth.

Checking the back of the DVD…again. :)

Ummm….I don't really want to have my picture taken.

You will give me a treat if I cooperate?

Wait, the treat will be CHOCOLATE?!?!?!?!

My stellar stud.  He LOVED his hat. And thank the lord for that.  Because the day before, I attempted to give him a haircut.  Let's just say that I learned the hard lesson that watching a YouTube video does not qualify me as a hair stylist.

I call this photo, "I casually and nonchalantly love my brother."

I call this photo, "Lady.  Look at my hair. We're still doing this photo thing?"

I call this photo, "Two Siblings Super Interested In Having Their Picture Taken."  Isn't it beautiful?

Once again, chocolate bribery semi-saved the day. :)

Until Charlie threw on his hardcore face and proclaimed to be done with photos.

Even a half hug from his sister couldn't reign him back in.

After I was done torturing the kids with the camera at home, we headed out to Matt's grandma's farm.  We had a great lunch and then headed outside for an egg hunt.

After the hunt, the kids rearranged Grandma Rosie's garden. :)

At some point in the day, the brim of Charlie's hat broke off, and he converted to Judaism.  Shalom.

After leaving the farm, we went to my parents house.  My mom had filled the kids baskets with shredded paper…and I think she learned her lesson. :)

Reese was good about cleaning up her mess though. :)

After dinner, we went outside to play.  The kids had so much fun. :)

Grass stained tights are good indicator of a super fun Easter. :)

So, that was Easter.

I realized that I forgot a chunk of stuff in my last post.

These photos are from March.  I realize that most of these photos seem boring and unimportant.  But to me, they are tiny miracles.  Look closely at Charlie.  In several of these photos, he is playing with toys. TOYS, people.  I can count on my hands the number of times I have seen this child play with toys.  Not electrical outlets.  Not toasters.  Not doors or dryers or dishwashers.  TOYS, people.  Real. Appropriate. Toys.  Complete miracle.  Enjoy:

And here he's….I don't know what he's doing…but it's funny.

This is a photo of Reese from a birthday party a couple weeks ago.  She found these clothes in a dress up bin. :)

This is a photo of items I pulled out of Charlie's mouth one day.  I was in the kitchen doing dishes, and he walked in chewing on something.  I knew I hadn't given him anything to eat, so I checked his mouth, and this is what I found.  Reese had opened the desk drawer for him (that has a child proof lock), and so, logically, he reached in and tried to eat anything he could find.  THIS IS WHAT I'M DEALING WITH YOU GUYS.

Last Friday, Charlie started refusing to wear a diaper.  He wants to wear "panties" as he calls them.  So, we have been letting him run around in undies, and hoping for the best.  Sometimes he does an awesome job, and…other times he doesn't.  But if he's showing interest, I'm not going to refuse him! :)

Charlie has discovered that he can lay on his back in the tub just like Reese.  It's super cute.

The kids came to see me at work on Wednesday to have their teeth cleaned.  They did great! :)

Reese and Matt got to go to Dad's night at school on Thursday evening.  He got to spend a couple hours in her classroom with her observing the work she has been doing. They had a great time!  :)

Reese has taken a sudden interest in my makeup in the last month or so.  She previously had no interest whatsoever and had never even asked about it.  And then, one day, she asked if she could try some on, and now she's kind of obsessed.  She has also recently changed her favorite color from brown to purple.  My gal is becoming girly.

This little stinker has also started insisting on walking down the stairs instead of going down on his belly.  He's pretty good at it though.

These were the crazy kiddos this morning.  Yes, that's underwear on Charlie's head.

And I would like to think that our gal pal has brought the Blackhawks some luck.  Reese has worn her Blackhawks jersey for the last 3 games (and they have won), and I'm hoping she'll wear her jersey tomorrow to push them to the next round of the playoffs. :)

And lastly, here are some videos I forgot to include in the last post.

And Charlie's favorite activity.  Filling the dog's water bowl.  By spitting out his water.  Grrrrr (but kinda funny).

y).
